You know, this probably isn't that important or anything, but I kinda noticed this trend the other day. Like, whenever someone brings up self-defense, it's always magic or some sort of weapon.

Maybe... No, I'm pretty sure this is a biased opinion, but why doesn't anyone ever ask to learn martial arts? I'm not gonna stupidly start yelling that martial arts is the best, but, it's got it's advantages over magic and weapons, right?

I guess, well, I'm just complaining that I never hear someone say "Let me learn martial arts!" when it comes to protecting themselves. I don't think I'd like, be the best teacher, but, I probably could get someone started... that is, if I'm not the only one.

You know, that's a good question. I hear a lot of magic happens at the barracks, but when I try to find out if there's any normal, non-magical training going on, it just sounds like there... isn't.

You practice martial arts? What style?

I was learning Ken-po from my master back home. Well, he quit teaching and I quit learning about the same time. For... almost similar reasons.

I didn't really quit per say... Like, I went off to save my mom, and he had to go deal with some like... evil twin brother or something. We kinda keep in touch but, as far as the whole learning and lessons go, yeah, that hasn't happened in a while.

Also, I've kinda been here for like, two years...

Yeah. I've been here a little over... or maybe just under two years. It's kinda hard to remember what month I showed up unless I actually sit down and think about it.

It was an accident on all sides. I started out as an ordinary turtle, but then some aliens dropped this canister of mutagen... I didn't know about the aliens until recently. I used to think I had some human DNA, but it turns out I don't. So I'm still more animal than man, at least genetically speaking ... [Feel free to cut him off in turn.]

Oh... so, you're kind of like... an accident? Well, I don't mean like an accident but... you know, right?

I was born this way. A lot of people were, but, I was one of the unlucky ones to be tested on. Like, I've got friends and family that can transform into uh... were-beasts too, but, I'm the only one that can't do it all the way.

Genetically speaking, technically... It's like... if I remember right, I have human and cat genes. But, I can like, transform into what's basically a werecat at will.

I don't think it's really a matter of 'which is better'. I'm me, and that's part of me. Weither or not I have hands or cat paws, I'm still the same girl.
